Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a substance that is naturally present in many areas of the human body, including the skin, eyes and joints. It is a humectant, meaning that it’s a substance that helps retain moisture. In fact, it’s capable of binding over 1,000 times its weight in water.
When HA is used in skincare, it can help to hydrate the outer layers of the skin, helping skin to look more plump, radiant and youthful.
